South Africa’s SuperSport goes widescreen

Multichoice-owned SuperSport is switching its lineup of standard definition channels to the 16:9 aspect ratio, widescreen format.
The South African channels, which air on the DStv satellite platform, will switch over to widescreen from February 4.
Multichoice said that the switch will bring the channels “in line with international broadcasting trends and with other channels on the DStv platform,” adding that viewers will have a “richer, fuller viewing experience.”
