Slovakia ends DVB-T2 tests
07.56 Europe/London, October 31, 2011 By Chris Dziadul

The Slovak national transmission Towercom has now ended DVB-T2 tests that it began in August.

However, according to the company’s marketing director Michal Suran, quoted by Zive, it plans to ask for a further temporary permit or for new permits to continue the tests.

The DVB-T2 tests began in Bratislava and were subsequently extended to a transmitter located at Borskom Mikulasi.

Although they initially involved FTA channels, some were subsequently encrypted.

The channels tested were Doku CS, Kino CS, Muzika CS, Travel Channel HD, Viasat Explorer and Viasat Nature, the first four of which were broadcast in MPEG-4.
