Skylink/CS Link hit by fines
January 17, 2013 08.20 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

SkylinkThe operator of the DTH platforms Skylink and CS Link has been fined a total of CZK15 million (€585,870) by the Czech Telecom Office (CTU).

Local reports say that CZK5 million of this amount relates to the introduction of a service charge of CZK29 a month for services that were termed Free and Gratis and CZK10 million for the failure to inform customers about this change and allow them to withdraw from their contracts without incurring a penalty.

The fines have been imposed on the Luxembourg-based M77 Group, which was reported to be merging with its parent company M7 Group at the beginning of this month.

M77 is understood to have appealed against the fines.

Skylink and CS Link are the leading DTH platforms in both the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
