Sea Launch for sale

Reports out of Moscow say that struggling launch operator Sea Launch is either up for sale or is seeking an investor to take over a portion of the business.
Russian news agency TASS says that Sea Launch’s running costs are around $30 million annually. Sea Launch provides an assembly and floating launch platform (a converted oil rig) which is capable of sending rockets into orbit from mid-Pacific.
“The search for investors continues,” stated TASS. “Negotiations are underway. The project’s management has the task to find an investor or a buyer as soon as possible in order to relieve [current owners] Roscosmos and RKK Energia of the financial burden associated with the infrastructure maintenance, first of all, marine vessels,” quoted TASS.
