School bus driver fired after teens drive

Authorities in Georgia said a school bus driver was fired after allowing two teenage students to drive her vehicle.
Dodge County sheriff's spokesman Capt. Tony Winborn said Patricia Cuda was fired Sept. 9, one day after she allowed a 13-year-old and a 15-year-old to drive down a dirt road while seven students ages 10 to 15 remained on board, the Macon Telegraph reported Thursday.
Winborn said Cuda's child was one of the students who drove.
Dodge County school Superintendent Darrel May said Cuda, who had driven school buses for nine years, told officials she allowed the teenagers to drive because they asked for permission.
"We periodically get video cameras on buses, but several still do not have any," May said. "Her (bus) did not have video."
Winborn said the case has been turned over to the district attorney's office for review. He said Cuda may face misdemeanor charges.
