11.13 Europe/London, January 25, 2012 By Chris Dziadul

Rostelecom has been granted permission by Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) to buy a 100% stake in the Siberian company Enter.

According to Vedomosti, the latter, which was established in 2005, provides fixed broadband internet services to 22,000 subscribers in the cities of Bernaul, Novokuznetsk and Tyumen.

Enter was until now owned by the Dutch-registered company Consumer Enter.

In a separate development, Rostelecom has announced a buy back of 3.86% of shares in the company.

Rostelecom is a leading player in Russia’s TV industry, claiming over 500,000 subscribers to its IPTV services, provided by various regional subsidiaries.
