Romtelecom and Pro TV strike deal

Romtelecom, new offices 2011Romtelecom and the CME-owned Pro TV Group have reached an agreement on the distribution of the latter’s 11 channels.
As a result, the channels in question – Pro TV, Acasa TV, Pro Cinema, Acasa Gold, sport.ro, MTV, Pro TV International, VH1, Pro TV HD, Acasa HD and sport.ro.HD – will from today (January 9) – once more be available on the Romanian telco’s Dolce DTH and IPTV platforms.
In a statement, Romtelecom says that the two parties will complete negotiations to formalise the details of the new contract by January 31.
It adds that four channels – BBC Knowledge, Comedy Central, Shorts and BBC World News – introduced on January 3 to replace the 11 Pro TV services will remain available to Dolce subscribers and free of charge until March 31, after which they will be distributed amongst various packages.
