Roku adds Time Warner TV, passes 700 channels
Time Warner Cable has confirmed it will bring TWC TV to Roku streaming devices in the US. TWC TV is an authenticated service available to subscribers of Time Warner Cable video service at no additional cost and is expected to launch on Roku this quarter. At launch, TWC TV will feature up to 300 live television channels.
Roku is also expanding its channel offering in the UK with video, music and casual gaming services. This quarter, Roku users will have access to entertainment from video portal Dailymotion, digital music service Spotify and music video library VEVO.
Meanwhile, Roku has announced that it has surpassed 700 channels on the Roku platform. The company streamed one billion hours of entertainment in 2012.
