I'm stll awaiting my IP Box 9000 HD from the distributor. It died after about 2 months of use. I sent it back to the dealer on December 18 2008 and I still haven't got it back.
I vaguely understand that a spare part was received but the original operating system had to be replaced, so the box is still with the dealer.
At the time there was one other user (egendream) with the same problem.Could I ask if your problem has been resolved, and was there any explanation for the cause ?

When this happened the Box was on standby with the time on the front. Pressing the PWR button brought up the XXXXXXXXXXXXX on the display which then just went black and caused the button to flash, until all went dark. Indeed, I have used the on/off switch to restart the IP BOX several times. But even in my old digibox a restart after blocking was only possible by pulling out the mains lead and putting it back in again.
Are you saying that the ON/OFF switch causes spikes to the circuitry ? An external power supply is obviously the best solution to avoid this problem in the future.
