the remote on my box ipbox 900 doesnt work, i believe the 9000 and 900 have the same remote. does any one have a spare for sale

you did make sure the remote was in STB mode and not TV mode, i know this sounds a silly question but we have all done it and pressed the TV button by mistake.

yeah all checked out. the remote just doesnt work at all.

Hi,

A quick check if it sends any IR-commands.
Activate the camera on your cellphone.
Point the IR-led of the remote straight to the lens of the camera. keep it very close.
Push any button on the remote an check on the screen of the phone if it flashes, and you would know whether it is completetly dead or not.

If it flashes it should work, it might only be set up for some other reciever model. This can easily be set up with som key combination that I unfortunately cannot remember now.

Hopefully this was clear enough.

of course the batteries could be dead also.

wow thanks for that very helpful post. New batteries in and run that test. no flashes or anything.

therefore i come to the conclusion its fully dead time to bury the poor bugger.

the key combo for setting it up to a ipbox 900 is jold ok and 5 for about 10 seconds.
