So you press the red button and it switches to radio?
Strange do you have a hardrive fitted? Usually you press the red button and it will show you another menu to choose a recording option. Try holding down the red button for a second or 2. Over way is a timer recording you can do this manually on the remote, press the menu button the scroll to the timer option.

Yea, I have the HDD in the DB 800...
I can rewind and pause live tv, but when I press record button (which is the radio button), it brings up the radio channel list.
The red button rewinds live TV.
Ferret, can you confirm that that the latest version of the blackhole image allows you to record via the radio button on the DB 800 remote, as i'm going to flash the image again (if this is the case).

Mate despite what the remote looks like the radio button is just that it brings up the radio bouquets in normal operation.
It is the red colored button << rewind that brings up the recording options. If the red button does not do this then something is wrong with the key map and re-flashing would be a good option or maybe even a factory reset would cure it.

It was because I installed the 'Timeshift' plugin. With that plugin, I can only record programs by presing the timer button, but without the Timeshift plugin, I can record programs by pressing the red (rewind) button - but the problem without the plugin is that I can't rewind programs.

Yea I know m8. I've decided to leave the 'Timeshift' plugin, as I need it to rewind programs.
I'm now waiting for my DB 800 fans.

yes, I do not think you can use the red button for both rewind and record
i just recently install the timeshift plugin, but was having trouble doing instant records, which I could do before by pressing the red button
your have to make a choice for the red button either instant record or timeshift, cannot be used for both

I didn't make up the "long red for instant record menu", it's in the instruction for PTS. Do you understand "long red"?
