RAFA BENITEZ admits he will have to sell some of his Anfield stars if he wants to bring in more than one big name this summer.
The Liverpool chief is keen on Valencia duo David Silva and Raul Albiol and retains a strong interest in bringing Gareth Barry to Merseyside from Aston Villa.
He has already been promised a transfer kitty of around £25million — yet will need much more if he is to make wholesale changes to strengthen his squad.
And that will almost certainly spell the end of the road for Ryan Babel, while Daniel Agger, Andriy Voronin, Andrea Dossena and Lucas could all be shown the door as well.
Benitez said: “Every year it is important to sign good players, the right players, and this year will be the same.
“We know we have better players now, which makes it more difficult to find better players than we’ve already got — but we still have to do it.
“I have an idea of who we want but clearly we have to work hard and maybe we need to sell someone to increase what I already have.”
