PVU broken on 138p

Hi

I upgraded to the latest patch, and everything was working fine, then I tried to add a new .key file, and boom - no more PVU.

Have gone back to previous patch, still broken, and re-installed 138p again...and its still not working.

Any ideas what I've done, and how to fix it?

it would help a lot IF u were to at least mention what sat box you have ??
And why are u loading key files ??
Key files are not required whatsoever and Do NOT contain any PowerVU keys whatsoever
infact all it will do is wipe out any powerVU keys which are contained in the latest patch software .
IF U Require u can manually add powerVU Keys within reciever menu which u found are not working .

Some more info is definitely required .

Assuming the Patch number at a guess i would say the OP is using a TM5402HD M3 or F3/5. Reports are PVu is working fine on those patches what may have happened is the OP loaded his own working keys via the menu and saved but once you upgrade the patch already has pre-configured keys which some may be old and new changing.

So all working keys will have to be entered again with the corresponding frequency for them to work

Sorry, I forgot to say I have a TM5402 Mk 3. It was working fine. I was adding keys because some channels changed keys, I noticed.

Is there any way I can restore the keys contained in the patch, somehow?

YES ..And thnxs for replying
its exactly what issue i thought it might be aswell
only issue is loading new patch will wipe some [ not all ] powerVU keys its a shame this was not pointed out before new these patches were published , you would have needed to write down or make a text file of the working keys before u loaded the latest new patch .

i have TM5402 M3 HD also , and TBS5980 & 5922SE USB Q-Box
i was very very lucky because Admin @ Empb and kind Moderator @ TheHighlander helped me get back on track again .

to add keys manually its Menu>SYSTEM INFORMATION> CAS MENU
Scroll down to PowerVU keys
if its not there around slot 90 onwards then u might need to load patch again fresh .

All PVU slots 90 onwards are gone..I will try to re-load patch.

Maybe I can try to re-load original TM software, and then update again...

NO NEED TO LOAD original TM software
Just try loading patch 138p again then check .

you don't need to load Softcam keys for bulsatcom 39East because auto update by itself on patch138p m8

open this txt and over there a show you how to enter manually for P********VU m8

If you go back to another patch 1.17p for instance Bulsat will still auto update as this stays in the receivers memory :thum:

even the older models for example TM5402 M1-M2 or TM6900super or TM6902 auto update keys for 39e :thum:

Rather than spending hours typing in new keys, I tried to restore the firmware back to TM original, and then factory reset. All went OK, then re-installed 138p...and no keys install. It's almost like that section of memory doesn't get over-written.

So maybe the next patch will re-install keys, but until then, nothing will open unless I spend a week typing in new keys

Can someone post a pic of a key (maybe one of the horse racing channels on 4.8E) from the CAS menu on a TM5402 so I can copy exactly - I cannot get them to work since I accidentally loaded softcam keys and everything got messed up.

Tried to do factory reset, even hard factory reset via Ch+ & switch on...and nothing. It is like the data is not being reset.

I try to manually re-enter key...but nothing will work.

Sorry but since keys are posted public for SiS channels they now are changing every day on SiS @ 4.8E
very good chance that you are trying old/dead key which wont work .

OK thanks for info, but any key will do. I want to check the formatting is correct (I had to enter manually) but nothing at all works....literally nothing.
