Hi, not only am I new to this forum but also very new to the sat scene.
Since joining I have been searching and reading quite a bit to get to grips with my dm800, setting it up etc.
I have now got to the stage that I need to port forward to the dm800 and although I have, with the help of the forum, established how to do it, I am nevertheless stuck on two specific points.
In the router (Netgear WPN824v2) manager, in the area where you forward ports I am asked for two bits of info, as follows:
1) Service type and then a choice of TCP or UDP. I think the one I need to choose is "UDP" but I am not sure, can any one confirm this or advise otherwise?
2) Starting Port. I have no idea how to establish the port number that I want to forward. I've had a look around the router manager but can't find anything there to point me in the right direction. The only other place I see port numbers is in dreamboxedit which shows the http server port and ftp port for the dm800 but I think these are not the right ones. Help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
