-- Police in Chicago said they are searching for a man who stole a bus, posed as a bus driver and picked up passengers before returning the vehicle.
Chicago Transit Authority President Richard Rodriguez said the man had an apparently stolen CTA uniform and knew enough about procedures to log in and take the bus at about 8 p.m. Sept. 9, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Friday.
Rodriguez said the bus was returned about midnight.
"He was very familiar with how to activate the vehicle and move the vehicle," Rodriguez said.
Police said they do not know how many passengers the man picked up and dropped off before returning the bus. They said he isn't believed to be a former CTA employee but rather an acquaintance of a driver who is cooperating with the investigation. Police said the driver reported his uniform stolen in August.
