Plusnet enlists Darren Gough for Yorkshire appearance

Monday, November 29th

The broadband provider and the cricketer took to the streets of Sheffield this weekend.
Plusnet has enlisted the help of former Yorkshire and England cricketer Darren Gough to help promote its broadband packages.

As part of the company's "Good honest broadband from Yorkshire" promotion, the internet service provider set up shop outside Sheffield City Hall last Friday and Saturday (November 26th and 27th 2010).

Along with Gough - who took 229 wickets in 58 Test matches for England - Samson the dog from Plusnet's recent TV advertising campaign made an appearance.

"It's a proud day for Plusnet as our dog Samson comes home for a couple of days off from his busy filming schedule," remarked spokesman Ryan Couldwell.

Over the two days, staff from the company handed out free cups of Yorkshire tea to help people stave off the freezing weather.

Plusnet's focus on its northern roots has also seen the organisation announce plans to close its call centre in South Africa and move all its customer service operations to Sheffield.
