pls i want to know things that cause dreambox to Hang. i have no usb or hdd installed but still the box hangs. can the sim cause that? pls help me.

Nope, I'm not unsure of that. There is no way and its impossible to cause a dreambox to hang.

There are not so many informations from you.
May be you installed to many Plugins, Skins, Picons into the flash. You can have such problems, if there is not enough free flash memory.Telnet:
df -h
can show you.

maybe i havent been clear. pls forgive me. its like the box freezes. it takes no remote or front button commands. unless it is powered off and on again. it happens no matter the image type.sometimes audio on picture stops. when that happens i cant ftp to the box. DCC shows: "ftp not ready" and "telnet not ready.

Try re-flashing your box with a light image like PLi or NewEnigma2.
If your box is not an original make sure that the image is compatible with your sim bootloader

Incorrect plugin instal or even a glitch when using FTP can corrupt the image causing it to hang.

i will to inform the house that your advice have helped my dreambox to improve dramatically. firstly, i opened the box and cleaned the boared carefully.i then flashed a new new pli image. the box has improved about 30% when it comes to booting. no picture or audio freeze. my only problem now is that , when the box is left on for a long time it fails, it fails to accept remote commands enough channel will be showing normal. i will be happy if someone can help me out.

I had the exact same problem as you. It turned out to be a overheating problem. I fitted a HDD cooler and has been working fine ever since.

I have a DM800HD clone and it crashes every time with you tube player unfortunately.

I wonder if there is a fix for this and if it happens to everyone who has a clone.

It looks like the you-tube plugin is causing the problem. It may be incompatible with image you are using.

I would watch you-tube through my computer and leave dreambox for watching my programs.

The same problem happens whatever image I have tried.

I do watch you tube from my computer, but it would be nice to watch some videos on the big screen if possible.

I have a cloned box and have tried lots and lots of images. I have tried the nemesis image and although stable I have been having problems with plugins as well:mecry:

hi guys i have 800s sim 2.1 i find Nemesis2-6-dm800-SVN-190r0-ramiMAHER and tsimage_1.1 very good almost all the plugins working even myutube with out any problem

yes bm300 good advice some image not play youtube and crash and restart dm
