Peled and Habiger dance together

IBC 2011 – AMSTERDAM. Newly appointed chief executive officer Dave Habiger has put some colour on what he described as a four to five month dance with N.DS executive chairman Abe Peled.
“I had to figure out after 20 years in the industry I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, whether to play guitar, to write or mow the lawn. It quickly became clear that I wanted to see the end of this game as there’s a really interesting shift happening in this industry,” said Habiger. “N.DS is in the middle of a revolution in the same way the PC industry went through a revolution in the 90s. What is going to happen in this space is going to be massively disruptive.”
Habiger and Peled held a series of meetings including one in the lead up to Superbowl XLV in Dallas.
Habiger, who led Sonic Solutions up to its sale to Rovi, said companies would need to decide precisely where they positioned themselves, dividing them into content owners; sales and marketing; and technology providers.
