Virgin Media will extend its range of high definition channels from October 6 with the premiere of Living HD.

The lifestyle and entertainment channel will be exclusive to the UK cable platform and joins the existing line-up of BBC HD, Channel 4, ESPN, FX, MTV and National Geographic.

Acquired content including Ghost Whisperer, Private Practice, Boston Legal and CSI Vegas will all be shown in native HD.

“Our customers watch Living more than any other digital TV channel, so I’m delighted they will exclusively be the first to watch it in spectacular HD,” commented Mark Schweitzer, chief commercial officer at Virgin Media. “Living has a powerful brand and a breadth of programming that works so well in HD”.

Living HD will be available to subscribers of the big basic XL tier with the relevant set-top box.
