nc+ to appeal fine

The new Polish DTH platform nc+ is to appeal the PLN11 million (€2.62 million) fine imposed on it by the competition authority UOKiK.
The move was confirmed by the latter, quoted by Wirtualne Media, who added that this will not change the conditions imposed by the authority in its original ruling.
The platform nc+ was formed by the merger of Cyfra+ and n and officially made its debut on March 31.
However, it quickly ran into difficulties, being subjected to strong criticism by its subscribers for increasing fees and changing the terms and conditions of their contracts.
The UOKiK then stepped in and on April 30 imposed a fine of PLN11 million on ITI Neovision, which through TVN holds a 32% stake in nc+.
