National Geographic is planning to launch a specialist music channel before the year is out.
'Nat Geo Music' is likely to launch in Italy in October, reports C21, before rolling out across Europe in stages.
Programming on the station will include themed films, documentaries and musical performances fitting of the National Geographic ethos - exploration, discovery, pioneering characters and remarkable events.
The broadcaster declined comment on the new channel.
