Problem with DarkStar

Hi i tried installing this image, manually by putting image in tmp folder and renaming it root.cramfs as dreambox tells you to do. At the beginning It starting downloading and running file, but now my dreambox is just flashing on and off saying dark star! and there is nothing i can do, remote control is not responding. please help. how can i undo this, and how to i install darkstar?

Only thing you can do now mate is reflash with DreamUP and Null modem cable.

You will now not be able to use Flashwizard as your image is corrupt, DreamUP and a Null cable will sort it.

Thanks for the reply, but i am very new to this, what is dreamup and what is a null modem cable? where do i find them and how do i use them? thanks again

ok i downloaded dreamup, but it tells me connection prepared but to turn on the dreambox, while it is turned on and still flashing dark star... ??

Problem with Dark Star

Hi,

I installed the Dark Star image, but for some reason it would not allow me to edit/change the CCcam.conf file. Is this a bug? is there a way round it? I had to go back to PLi image in the end, but i thought darkstar was a lot nicer, and if there is a way to fix this problem then I would definetely want to reinstall this image.

Also how can I save my bouquets when changing images so that I don't have to re-do them all the time.

Thanks in advance for any help.

i always save all my bouquets with dreamboxedit and than use the same to restore them to the new image.

But what about the problem with Darkstar Image not letting me edit the CCcam.conf file or even replace it?

ok i need to know what cccam version you are using.
i presume you have network connection through dcc.i will talk you through it and see if we can get you up and running m8.

I am using CCcam 2.0.10
Yes I am using DCC. I can change/edit files with any other image, using this cam, but when i had Darkstar on, it wouldn't let me edit the file or replace it. It only allowed me to delete it, but when i tried to then input the file, it would not copy it onto the dreambox. By the way i installed Darkstar, with flash. I do not know how to use dream up, don't know if this made a difference, but i don't think so, since other than this specific problem the image was working fine! Thanks again for your help.

i m using 2.0.11 but it was alway var full i dont know why i have just only cccam and mgcamd but the var are full

when you install new image and go into ftp through DCC click on cccam config on right hand side, then send it to replace the scrypt cccam on the right hand side you do this by pressing the blue arrow facing the left and side of ftp programme in DCC.when it has sent it to var , etc,. you will be able to edit cccam and put your clines in.

How can I change the list of satellites

How can I change the list of satellites in this image?
In Gemini you can goto satellites XML loader and select the satellites you need and download transponder data.
How can I do this in this image?
