The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, from NBC Universal, will be broadcast throughout Africa by MTV following a distribution agreement between the American network and Viacom International.

MTVlogoStarting 24 September, MTV will air a daily show of Fallon's trademark chat, humour, superstar guests and audience participation every weekday, with a longer edition on the weekends, through several African pay-TV operators.

"MTV and Jimmy Fallon have a long history of collaboration, going back to 2002 when he hosted the Video Music Awards," commented Dillon Khan, channel director at MTV & VH1 for South Africa. "We expect the show to form a staple part of our audience's daily viewing, with each show driving conversations among fans from the swings in the playground to the water cooler at work and everywhere in between."

Five months into his new job, Emmy and Grammy award-winning comedian Fallon has already made a firm mark on his audience with his unique comedic wit, on-point pop culture awareness, welcoming style and impeccable taste in music.
