Mediaset hits pay-TV target

Mediaset has surpassed the subscriber targets for its pay-TV service Premium. After three months of its “Champions League” campaign (with exclusive TV rights for Italy), Mediaset Premium reached 1.81 million subscribers, or 112,000 more than at the end of June. This number does not include customers with pre-paid cards.
Mediaset had given itself a target of 200,000 new subscribers at the end of the second half of 2015, which now seems very attainable.
According to the broadcaster, Mediaset Premium managed to attract more new pay-TV subscribers than the competition. There’s also an increase in ARPU, due to the increased value of the content offered by the pay-TV platform.
