LIME delivers OTT video with a Caribbean flavour
By Jamie Beach December 5th, 2012

Cable & Wireless Communications’ Caribbean division, LIME, has introduced a new over-the-top (OTT) video service with a lineup of over 130 linear channels as well as a VOD library, based on technology from US firm Entone.

The new service is based on Entone’s FusionTV platform and uses adaptive bitrate (ABR) and HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) technologies to deliver subscription video services to broadband-connected households in the 13 Caribbean countries in which LIME is active.

LIME’s basic TV service channel lineup includes programs from major US networks such as ABC, CBS and NBC, sports from ESPN, music from MTV, children’s channel Nickelodeon, as well as news and lifestyle programmes from Warner Brothers and BBC America.

LIME has also launched LIMEstyle, its own channel for showcasing its latest products, services and promotions.
