Let say you find a key in one of the following formats:

1. Please instruct step by step how to add this key from above example in the vplug's database as a new key using vplug monitor and then how to edit an existing key (without replacing the v_key.db and v_sid.db)
step 1: start vplug monitor by clicking plugins->vplug-> show monitor
step 2:.... please add next steps here

2. What are the main parameters that you need to know beside the key in order to have a successful decoding? Ex: PID, SID, CaID, ProviderID... and where can be edited in vplug

3. Usually only the key changes over time or the above parameters change as well?

4. What is the difference between v_sid.db, v_key.db and softCam.key files? are they ALL required to be updated? can you use the import function in vplug or you just overwrite the files?

5. Can you provide a link to documentation explaining the parameters and the coding/decoding process as well as a VPLUG user guide?

6. How the new keys are obtained anyway?

editing a key. vplug. dvbviewer pro. adding a new key

If the channel has an old expired key, and you know the new key, you can go on Plugins / show monitor.
In the "in use key" frame, you should see the old expired key. Right click on it and choose "edit select key". Be sure that your new key has the same format as the old one there and overwrite it. click ok. if your new key is good, I think should work. If still does not work, you may change the channel and come back on it, to reactivate vplug with the new key.

However, we still need answers about adding a brand new key, with all the parameters, the sys, provider id, index, and so on.

If you click on the blue cylinder icon (show editor) on your right hand side of vplug monitor, you open a window with 3 tabs: SID's , keys, and TPS.
If you go on the keys tab, I guess you can import and convert a SoftCam.key file by selecting it and pressing convert, however seems that the .key file should have the keys in a format compatible with vplug, or you'll get an error. If you are not sure what keys are in the SoftCam.Key you may want to select "keep all & import only new records" before pressing convert, in order to keep your working keys.

If you know the Name/sys(V,D,I,S,W,N), the ProviderID, and the KeyIndex, and ofcourse the key you can update the keys there or add new ones.

I guess the keys are stored in the v_key.db file.

There are stil questions about SID's tab / v_sid.db that stores the following fields: ChName, SID, TID, PMT, ECM, Provi-Id, CAID, DCW, and Bisskey.

My understanding is that changing the DCW or Biss key and clicking update. Is the DCW the CW key in the digital format?
What is TID (transponder id?)? this is usually not provided when you find a new key on the net. They give you the CAID, the provider ID in a different format then vplug uses, a SID, that may be in a different format as well, and a CW key.

Until now I used to look closely the post on "latest v_sid for vplug" and "latest v_key for vplug", download them and replaced the files, but I would like to be able to manage manually my key database because sometimes the files contain keys from satellites I don't use.

Is there in the forum a key section from which josagi, skystar2, bokili and other active users from vplug section take the new keys? Do you convert manually the keys and upload them to SU? Can you please describe the steps you do before you upload the v_sid.db and v_key.db including your source?

But I want to ask you two questions:

1- Can you edit Viacess,Biss,CCW,Irdeto,etc keys in your V-plug monitor?
2. Do u know how to edit v.sid and v.keys files and add new keys?

Here are your questions followed by my answers:

-Yes, I can edit existing keys in my v-plug monitor by right-clicking the "in use" key and overwriting the new value or going into vPlug's editor in the SID's tab searching for the chanel name and updating the DCW and/or BISSkey; in the vPlug's Editor/keys tab, I can edit existing keys as well.

2. Do u know how to edit v.sid and v.keys files and add new keys?

-No, I don't know. Not sure. In fact this was my 1st question from 6.
PLEASE ADVISE

Ok,

For putting new Biss or DCW keys,There is a fast and easy way::

1-Stop on the channel.
2-Plugins >Vplug>Show Monitor>CA-infos tools>Quick instant DCW>
enter the keys>OK.
Then,channels work.

For Vsid and Vkeys files,
Be sure When put the keys in the vPlug Monitor,it means that you edit the Vsid and Vkeys files.

Vsid file is related to Biss and DCW keys.
Vkeys file is related to the other encryption like Viacess,Irdeto,etc...

After you put the new keys in VPlug Monitor,Go to (for example)
C/DVBDream/Plugins.Copy the Vkeys and Vsid files and put in the net to help the others.:thum:

Ok, now everything is clear about what v_key.db and v_sid.db are storing
and with editing a key and adding a new one (tested ok) when the key are given in a proper format.

However I still have some problems adding a new key when is given in a format like this:

[ Baby TV ] 10815H S/R 27500 FEC 5/6 - 27500 Hotbird 13°E | CCWs |07.05.2011

0500:032A00:00:8C:439D:[ CE 86 0B 5F C9 0A BC 8F 6F 10 7A F9 FB C3 21 DF ];

Tried to add the key(CE860B5FC90ABC8F6F107AF9FBC321DF) using CA-info tools/quick constant DCW, but returns "incorrect hash - autoECM started".

I guess I still need to add these parameters: 0500:032A00:00:8C:439D:
but I don't now which one is which... please advise.
I guess the CA-ID is 0500, the provider ID is 032A 00... is this correct?

What DCW means and what CCWs means?

So, what should I do to get this key working ?
