ROBERTO MANCINI has his heart set on a domestic cup double.

Goals by Martin Petrov, Nedum Onuoha, Sylvinho and Robinho saw off Scunthorpe 4-2 as Manchester City set up a home tie with Stoke in the last 16 of the FA Cup.

And with a 2-1 first-leg lead in their Carling Cup semi with rivals United, boss Mancini said: "We are 51 per cent of the way towards Wembley in our meeting with United.

"So we are already competing well on two different fronts in the cups. It will help us, and my players, that we were able to subdue Scunthorpe.

"The next task in to try to get past Manchester United on Wednesday. We feel we can do that but we must back up any words we say.

"And when that is decided, we can turn our attentions to the FA Cup - such a different competition and so difficult as well.

"Of course, the FA Cup is becoming a possibility for us also. That is obvious."

Admiring Scunthorpe boss Nigel Adkins sighed: "It was a pleasure for all of us at this club to experience City up close and personal.

"Their quality shone through as we knew it would."
