The IP9000HD has now been initializing for more than an hour, and it's a 250 gig disk. Is this normal..? The image is the latest from AAF.

Hi,

Hard disk usually take 5-10 mins . I guess you have put a new image on . This will take longer on the first boot up. I would just let it take its course and let it finished. I have found that a disk formate is required if you change image types . I had to do this on my last upgrade of an image change as I could not record with the new image .

Thanks! I restarted the process, and this time it went just fine. My only worry for now, is the noisy fan. In the dg-based images, I could turn the fan off, but I can't find this opportunity in AAF.

Replace the fan, its a common problem on cuberevo boxes, especially the 9000

The fan is not noisy, as a worn out fan, but the RPM is so high, and I guess it will be the same, even with a new fan?

In my Vu+, I have settings for the fan (maybe a plugin), and this works fine. It is set to OFF, and I have never had any problems with the HDD overheating, or any other problems.

Thanks! Is this in the AAF image? For the moment I'm playing with Nightly Build, but I will go straight back to AAF if I just can control the fan. :D
