ICVs enigma2 + BA works in AZBox HD+

Hi,
I will get my AZBox in e few days by mail. In the meantime I start to research about software.

What is not clear for me is the following question:
1)Can I use any E2 images available on this site?
2)If Barryallen is in my image already loaded will it work?
3) Did anybody tried a external CD? or USB hub? On my DM I was able to use a powered one with USB drive and CD.

If is a stupid question please let me know but don't kick too hard
If not I will post the results once I got there.

I already have a DM800HD SSL82F running ICVS in root and PLi1, PLi2 DSM16,17,18 and a few other on a 8G USB stick
I have flash-back image....can I use it just like that? do I have to prep. it or....I don't know.

Any help would be highly appreciated

No, just those which have the kernel and drivers built by The_Ripper, Satommy (RTi Team) and some other guys who are actually competent and can help, like SPAZE Team!

2)If Barryallen is in my image already loaded will it work?

No, it's a different system (YAMON), so no multiboot of that sort (DMM, Broadcom chip based stuff) is possible.

However, The_Ripper used a kernel that allows multiboot, and so we have a multiboot, after all, AZboox HD style.

In fact, I am using it and it's the best to use it that way, taking advantage of both worlds: E2 in receiver's flash and OFW in USB memory stick!

3) Did anybody tried a external CD? or USB hub? On my DM I was able to use a powered one with USB drive and CD.

USB hub with own power supply should work. Tested by others, not me. At least in OFW, not sure about E2, though...

However, E2 had some problems with USB devices. Let's hope they are now behind us... Namely, one could lose a USB device easily, out of the blue, as it were... But allegedly, there's improvement now...

That was my recommendation to The_Ripper, to build an "iCVS" for AZbox HD and we add all from a server (updates, plugins etc.). Not yet, sadly...

No, you may not. Different HW, from the processor onwards, so it doesn't work like that!

All from scratch, with the exception of cfg files, for instance, for CCcam and the like, plus an E2 channel list...

P.P.S. I am writing an equivalent of "Alternative Guide..." for E2 now... Stay tuned... But in the meantime read that one! You will need it for Dual boot with OFW! There are some advantages to be had in OFW in relation to the momentary state of affairs in E2 development... In fact, I would suggest you first put in the latest OFW 5308 and learn. Then, in a few weeks, when new SPAZE is ready, put SPAZE in flash and OFW in USB stick...

Do you know if rqcamd be used in OFW? There is a AZ-Box version but I do not remember if Raton mentioned for what image.

I realized it is a lot to learn and test.
That's the reason I start reading and asking (sometimes dumb) questions .....before I blew up my new box ...like I did it many times with my DM500 and DM800.

RQcamd, if I remember correctly, was directed towards the American market... And yes, it was for OFW, at least in the beginning... Not sure if they made any changes to accommodate E2 in AZ HD...

Read my "Alternative guide.." Also Linux just not a completely open OS... And you will need it for Dual Boot...

You need to understand what works better in which OS and why you should use one over the other in various situations...

quick update,

Box arived,it is great loaded with 1.5 Tb drive.
Loaded GP3, a bit of sweat but after several trials (because of my impatience of course) it finished load, restored settings using DCC E2 1.20 (1.30 works too) copied channels from my DM800 using Dreambox edit.

A bit work to get rqcamd but it is working fine scan 5 sats.
If the Dreambox remote would work I couls forget it is not a DM800. Switching sats LNB and dif, encription work like a charm. Some EPG works some don't ...same like a real GP3 in this area.

Loaded with TSPannel 3.5 and Ferrari addons manager 5.0 - works and download plugins but be carefull about what plugin gets installed ..some might crush the box.

Now I have more questions if possible

I would like to test the dual boot, can you please let me know where I can find the working update.

AZup 2.01 tell me the kernel is old, can be upgraded/

When I try to reinstall original patch is asking me for a vmlinux file...can be downloaded from somewhere? From my understanding when you plug patch.bin thw screen will show some options to select but I believe that is PAL only... and I can not see it on a NTSC TV. Is there a guide to do it blind or remotely?
