You recorded a garbage stream with >50% broken packets. And there's no way to guess which one is broken and which one is ok. CWFinder 0.5 just checks single packet and get lucky. This is it.
And there's no C8s in stream. It's just part of repeated encrypted pattern. You don't need this to brute force.

@shishmish C8 finding is just counting repeat occurrences of the same ts packet... if you have a weak signal / corrupted packets, your counts will be lower, but the same, most often repeated patterns will still emerge.

Separately, the brute force programs work by searching the ts for an initial small count of encrypted packets with the PUSI bit set, and then procede with a brute force effort. If any one of those selected packets is corrupt, the search will likely fail. They do not, by nature, enjoy the averaging / noise filtering that C8 finding does.

Maybe that early CWFinder 0.5 rev had a very loose test for good CW... maybe just one or two packets showing 00 00 00 01 PUSI sequence as a positive. Who can say?

Perhaps the brute force programs could better handle corrupted data... but in reality you would not have been able to watch that feed even with the correct key, as the .ts was so full of errors.

@Martin.Wigston

Thanks for the answers and now i have no doubt what happened in my test. I admit that during the recording of the .ts file there was any more interruption in the reception of the signal . For this reason i have recorded a larger .ts file (238MB).
This is a example and explanation also for all the other members if to them the one happens the same case as to me.
Thanks to @dahaka for suggestion in this case .

Best regards

Damned edit window... of course PUSI sequence is 00 00 01, not as I mis-typed above.

@shishmish you may have had more luck with multiple small recordings rather than one big one, hoping to catch a peak in the signal where the corruption was absent.

Hi, guys
I noticed this c8 calculator seems to be missing in my biss tools folder and I can't find where to download it in older posts.
Can anyone help me please
Thank you in advance masters for your great work :thum:

Yep. it seems to be a non-public tool and I can't understand
why, because it's interesting but not an essential one.
However if this is author's will, it's right it remains private :thum:

But, this is the second time in a week I see a thread where screenshots of this tool compare. If it had to be private it's
better not to post its proofs again.

Also because I become nervous when I see something I have not...
and I assure you I could become dangerous... :D

All data of test:

CW key is located in CW_Brute_list-test:

Here is link of .ts file-test: https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cm5V/5D3jEkuQu

Here is link of CW_Brute_list (for test): https://cloud.mail.ru/public/G7UC/fAHMz2NDD
:thum:
Hi shishmish, i have analyzed your ts-file from it can extract the correct crypt8.
MediaInfo analysis shows that it is not possible to recognize which video codec is in question, while the audio pid recognizes the codec.
Video pid has codec AVC and I think that's why I can not get the correct key with CWBruteList i CWFinder(beta)0.0.0.9.
Nice regards

I'm trying with a .ts crypte' file.
With the old cw finder all OK.
With this cw list brute force give me an error:
UNABLE TO FIND PROGRAMS

MAYBBE DUE TO LOW SIGNAL IS Cause of this Error Message ??
Recording you made was useless i'm afraid .
Due to lack of Signal you had while trying to make the .TS File no picture can be decoded from your recording .

That Feed was using the Very old mediaset italy BISS Key From Here => http://www.sat-universe.com/showthread.php?t=242436&highlight=MEDIASET

maybbe next time might wanna ensure you have a much better signal before recording your .TS Files that way you might be able to find your key via @ shishmish CW List and tools .
Good luck : )

I've tested all CWFinder's (with and without CW_Brute_list) again with this .ts file by @BeatrixKiddo and with the same old CW_Brute_list.
All old CWFinder's found CW key except "CWBruteList"

Also "CSA-Rainbow-Table-Tool" found correct crypt8 (B8hx00):

V-PID: 200h Crypt8:0F 9B AE E8 4A 29 00 27 [E] Count:163226

checking c8:

In my opinion "CWBruteList" has some problem with MPEG-2 .ts files.
In any case, "CWBruteList" is a very good application for quickly finding CW keys :thum:
