How can I check Picons are saving to USB SD?

Hey Guys,

as per title, Im using both a internal HD, and a 2GB SD card in reader. both mapped.

is there an easy way to check picons are being stored in SD?, just wanted to check before i start installing for all satelites, ( i removed SD card and picons were all still active)

My current image, which works well.

Most image wiil see picons in

media/hdd/picon
media/usb/picon

So in your case navigate to media/sd

You should see a picon folder and they should be in there.

just looked using DDC neither have picon folder,

just found them in

MEDIA/USB/

2 folders

picon and usr

my deciveces are mapped as:

media/cf
media/hdd

hmm,. just checked in DCC in tools Memory info.

root only has 5mb available,

cf 1821mb

hd 272gb.


added another picon pack and root memory dropped to 1mb. so i guess its saving them in system memory?

Well your putting them there

You already stated you found them in media/usb/picon

So use that location.

in theory in DCC, i deleted the Picon folder in media/usb

and system memory jumped back upto 10mb, so im kinda assuming the media/usb isnt media/cf.


is there there a way when i install from add-ons i can choose media/cf ? dont seem to see anywhere to choose location during install.

I may be wrong that is a old image but I think the download were listed in storage type.

I hear what your saying regarding you mounts but something is wrong with them if it storing them in the flash.

cheers mate, got it, changed the mount from media/cf to media/usb re-installed and now saved fine leaving system memory alone,

ferret mate, is there any newer patched Blackhole images around?

had a look around, seen newer ones but not n dm800 clone image section,


one funny thing with current BH image, in my netgear genie, which shows all attached devices on my network, it now calls my dm800 "VUSOLO"

Any out there at the moment would just be the same base image with someone other than the blackhole team tweaking it with a few plugins.
