Hispasat takes Iran off air
by Chris Newbould
Spanish satellite company Hispasat, partly-owned by Paris-based Eutelsat, has ordered its satellite provider Overon to take Iranian channels Press TV and Hispan TV off the air, Press TV has reported. The Spanish company says the decision is in line with EU's sanctions against the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). In November, Hong Kong-based Asia Satellite Telecoms Co (AsiaSat) also took all Iranian channels off air in East Asia.
