help needed

hi i have just installed a dm800se clone with a8p i have flashed dream elite4.0 all seems fine i currently have sky mini dish set up but do have a 1m motorized dish ready to install. before i did that i thought i would get to grips with the box so i have searched for channels found a fair few some encrypted now i think in need to install some addons cams?? any help on this ??

if you install the Dextra you can download cams from the remote, if your talking about oscam you will need to install it manually

hi again mate your a bit of a Savior on here ha how do i install dextra ?? sorry if i sound a newb again finally got a working dream elite image though think iam on the final straight ha until i have to install this sat

ftp the file to etc folder then reboot and afterwards press blue twice addons extra you will see the cams in there

sorry forgot i had that on my desktop that many things downloaded the last day or so got them installed i done mgcamd
cccam2.3.0 camd3.902 now i have installed these what would be my next step to decrypt channels

your not going to decrypt any channels with a fixed dish on 28 east the only way you will get to clear any channels on there is with CS

i am installing a 1m motorized dish today with a quad lnb
looking through some of the threads do i need to install some software in order for the box to communicate with the dish/motor??

no just the image and then you set the tuner up to either usals by using your co-ordinates or DiSEqC usals is the easiest but your dish needs to be spot on,its not easy linning up a dish

i have downloaded a few files on installing the dish i will give it a go see how i get on if i struggle think i will call an expert in ha. i have seen this diseqc mentioned is this pre installed on the image. I had a nightmare drive home from your neck of the woods yesterday are they ever going to finish them road works and smash them average speed cameras up ha

I was down your way yesterday by the way had a nice 3 hour drive home thanks to those road works and average speed cam they must have been working on that motorway through Birmingham for a good 5 years now ha

what makes you think down my way is near Birmingham, and was them road works on the M6....?????,maybe you should have used the toll road.

and if I was you I would get a satellite installer to fit your dish, or you will be pulling your hair out without a decent satellite meter.

the installer will make sure its setup correctly tracks the arc and hits every satellite.

yeah the m6 couldn't use the toll road i don't think was going into the city center sat nav took me that way. I have got one calling out to give me a quote how much ya think i could be looking at with me having all the equipment and just needing the installation just don't want to get my pockets emptied unnecessarily?

what ever its costs it will be money well spent, i just had a re-align and it cost me £40,you can be there for hours upon end just trying and hoping to hit a sat.

and it should only take him about an hour/ hour and half max if he's any good, get him to set it up as usals and just download a set of pet settings for the sats you want to view.

thanks again you have been a great help been an education think i have even managed to set the dish up nearly going finish it off tomorrow cant hurt to try if it starts to give me 2 much pain ill call the guy i have just got a quote off. gunna have a search around to see what sats i can get from were i am with my equipment and what channels are on each sat.iam looking for movies sports discovery history. i also would like 3pm epl games but as you said i may need a bigger dish. if you have any advice were i can find lists of sats and there contents that would be fantastic. i will keep you updated on my progress tomorrow

hope i can pass on my newly gained knowledge on this site when i have finished

i have now got an expert coming out to align my dish tomorrow he says he is unfamiliar with the dreambox but as long as i can get him into the right menu he will be ok i asked about usals he said that wouldn't be a problem i think i have it ready for him to go but no sure if i have to do anymore.
