HD simulcast for Disney Channel UK

Disney Channel HD will launch on the Sky platform tomorrow (September 16), adding to the existing Disney XD HD, launched in October 2010, and Disney Cinemagic HD that appeared in December 2008.
Disney has just come through its fifth consecutive summer as the number one pay-TV channel for kids. Its portfolio of channels secured the top five shows during the holiday period; The Suite Life On Deck, Good Luck Charlie, Shake It Up, Wizards of Waverly Place and Sonny With A Chance.
Disney Junior, which replaced the Playhouse Disney brand in May, came through the summer with its highest weekly share of 2.6% among kids.
This success was also mirrored online as Disney Junior achieved its highest ever web traffic for week ending September 3. Disney Channels’ YouTube channels with video views on Disney Junior’s YouTube channel doubling since it first launched it May this year.
The complete TV portfolio comprises Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Cinemagic and Disney Junior.
