Germany’s Videociety comes to Philips Net TV

The German VOD service Videociety launches on Philips Net TV this month, offering movies in HD quality with Dolby Surround 5.1 sound.

The service will be available on all 2010 and 2011 models of Philips Smart TV, both TV sets and Blu-ray players. Rental costs €2.99 per title for a 48 hour period.

“Our partnership with Philips, is another milestone to bring Videociety into the living room on the television,” said Hans Henseleit, CEO Videociety, in a statement.

The offer includes action movies, thrillers, horror, drama, comedy, Sci-Fi and Asian movies. 3D titles will also be available.

Customers need to register with the service first and can then order movies with their remote control. Payment is via credit card and other payment options are open including mobile text messaging.
