flashed orginal 800 with clone image HELP

Can I ask for some help please guys, I flashed an orginal 800hd that I've had in a box for some while by mistake with a clone image of vix. I'd tried ts images and openatv but the atv was slow and I wanted a slimmed down image so I went for vix but now I have no ca error. I thought I could put any image be it clone or non clone on an original. What do I need to recover it i've downloaded dreamup and something called ncf repair kit but I'm not sure where to start. I know there loads of threads and I've searched them but I'm hoping some kind sole can help me out with a pointer to the correct file to download.

Now you need a RS232 cable (null modem), a PC with same port.
Dream Up program, and a SSL 84 original for your box DM800.
You connect a serial cable between box and a PC, run Dream Up, connect receiver to power supply and install a SSL84. Then you are ready to install any original image to your box again with standard procedure.

yep got those but not gettng a connection I am using usb to serial convertor so it may be that I will continue try tomorrow. Thanks for your help.

Not USB to serial - genuine serial will work only.

well thats going to be a problem as I dont have access to a really old pc with a serial port but I have had very good success with usb to serial when programming cards I will try tomorrow and let you all know.

Serial2usb cable works nicely.
Just make sure the com port number is correct.
It could be anything between 3 to 11 or more.

USB to Serial cable works 100%. I have personally checked it.

Update I have got the laptop to talk to the box and it uploads the first part of the fix but where it's supposed to then allow you to upload a new image it's just hanging.

with dreamup loads the image and returns all ok! uses the Nemesis. the image must be patched

I brought it back to life, core what a bast**d to do.

As mine was an original that was flashed with a clone image it was a little different, I eventually used a patched version of dream up and forced a genuine boot loader "84" onto the box at the same time I also have the box connected via both serial and ethernet connection. After flashing 84 it then connected again and the patched version did it's bit and I noticed that he screen changed on the front panel to say network connect serial and it had an ip address. I put the ip into the computer and flashed it with a non clone image. Just to say I have spent 3 nights playing with this with 3 different computer but eventually an xp notebook and a usb to serial worked. Don't give up.

Hi also on dreamup you have special featur for E2 Box's you chek recover bad sector and you flash dreambox by RS232 this take lill long time -/+ 40 Min then after all be Ok juste flash No clone image " Gimini " per example

could someone post a picture of USB to Serial cable that really works 100%??

You have to install the drivers for usb to db9 pin adapter firs and after you can use null modem cable to flash new firmware or ssl.
