15.00pm The Wrong Arm of the Law (U) 1962
London gangster Peter Sellers forms an uneasy alliance with fellow crooks to stop the entire underworld being taken over by an Australian gang posing as cops. Side-splitting comedy, with Sellers giving a simply fantastic performance in the lead. Lionel Jeffries, Nanette Newman and Bernard Cribbins co-star, while a host of celebrities, including Dennis Price, Michael Caine and Dick Emery, make cameo appearances (888)
16.50pm Storm Over the Nile (PG) 1955
A soldier accused of cowardice sets out to prove his worth by rescuing his friends during the Sudan campaign of the 1890s. Co-director Zoltan Korda's ineffectual remake of his masterly The Four Feathers, starring Laurence Harvey, Anthony Steel, Ronald Lewis, Ian Carmichael and James Robertson Justice (888)
18.55pm Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (U) 1977
John Wayne's son Patrick swaps the spurs and six-shooters for baggy trousers and cutlass to star in this Arabian adventure, which sees Sinbad freeing a prince from the grip of an evil spell cast by a wicked witch. Alas, he lacks the screen presence of his dad and can't carry the weight of this slightly disappointing adventure, so it's a good job Ray Harryhausen's superb special effects bring their usual touch of magic to proceedings. Also starring Jane Seymour, Taryn Power and one-time Doctor Who Patrick Troughton (888)
21.00pm O Brother, Where Art Thou? (12) 2000
Three bumbling crooks escape from prison during the 1930s, and strive to get their hands on stashed-away loot before a devastating flood ruins their spoils — but encounter all manner of scrapes and strange characters along the way. Another fabulous comedy from brothers Joel and Ethan Coen, this adventure is loosely based on Homer's Odyssey and boasts a uniformly excellent cast, including the always watchable George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, John Goodman, Holly Hunter and Michael Badalucco. The brilliant soundtrack, which includes fictional group the Soggy Bottom Boys performing Man of Constant Sorrow, went on to scoop a clutch of coveted Grammys (888)
23.00pm The Last Detail (18) 1973
Jack Nicholson and Otis Young star as US Navy officers who decide the recruit they're escorting to jail for petty crimes should enjoy a memorable weekend of freedom before being put behind bars. However, as they spend the weekend trawling bars and brothels, the young prisoner becomes less resigned to his fate. Randy Quaid and Carol Kane co-star in Hal Ashby's Oscar-nominated comedy-drama, which provided Nicholson with one of his most memorable roles (888)
01.00am A Decade Under the Influence (18) 2003
Documentary looking at how the 1970s became a turning point for the American film industry, as low-key and art house movies found success, while their big-budget counterparts saw a loss in profit. Including interviews with directors Martin Scorsese and Francis Ford Coppola, and stars Dennis Hopper and Julie Christie. By Ted Demme and Richard LaGravenese
