What I found out is that you should always update both
Boot and Soft otherwise you might end up having no remote support.
They might change that again but until now it worked for me.
The latest soft has a network problem (does not keep gateway)

I've got serious problems trying connect the qbox to my laptop. Can anybody give me the correct parameters ?

Try a crossed-LANcable perhaps it'll be ok.
