Factory Reset without pin?

Hi guys,

Ok before I can get anywhere with my new box (its not brand new, got it 2nd hand) I want to factory default it, but the pin has been changed and it isnt 0000 or any of the obvious ones.

1234, 4321, 0000 etc etc.

is there any other way of resetting the pin, or wiping it, or is it a brick?

I found the answer from another place, so if anyone else has this problem its 2011.
