Eurosport secures German MotoGP rights

September 26, 2014 11.38 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Eurosport has acquired the exclusive TV and internet rights for motorsports series MotoGP in Germany between 2015 and 2018.

The agreement with Dorna Sports contains the HD live rights for all races in all three divisions – MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 – including the test rounds on Friday, the qualifying rounds on Saturday and the races on Sunday.

The rights package covers transmissions at Eurosport and Eurosport 2 (in HD quality at Eurosport HD and Eurosport 2 HD) as well as at Eurosport 360 HD, the multi-feed TV service available exclusively at Sky Deutschland.

Eurosport also secured the exclusive internet rights for Germany, enabling the broadcaster to show all races on its web TV service Eurosport Player. Through PC, smartphone, tablet or a connected TV set, subscribers gain access to the live transmissions on Eurosport and Eurosport 2 as well as to seven additional live feeds showing different camera angles, for example four on-board cameras and a helicopter signal.
