The Ukrainian version of euronews will launch on euronews.net on August 17, one week before its first official broadcast, as a 24-hour service, on the euronews channel on August 24.
The launch of a Ukrainian version of euronews was officially announced back in October 2010 following an agreement between euronews and the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTU), a shareholder in the channel.
It will be the 11th language version of euronews and target an estimated 45 million viewers in Ukraine and around the world.
August 24 is a significant date in the Ukrainian calendar, being the country’s independence day.
