EPG not working properly (910HD / PGI 1.4)

Hi everybody,

I've just bought a Ipbox 910HD with PGI 1.4 software and 500 GB HDD. It is a wonderful reciever, much better than my old wornout Dreambox.

However the EPG is not really working properly. I can usually see what is running, but it does not load more than the current item and sometimes the next item. For some channels it doesn't even load the EPG-data until you zap to the channel. If it matters the satellite I am using is Thor 5 1w.

I have tried setting "EPG Background Scanning" to yes in the menu, but it doesn't really change anything.

Is it possible to edit a configfile or something to make it load EPG-data for 24 hours or more? Especially when you need to record something it is annoying that you can't see what is on later that day.

I'm not too sure about Thor 1w but as far as I know you need to find the frequency that the EPG info is being broadcast on for the packages you are interested in. Then leave it on that for several hours.
You might want to remove any of the previous EPG data and start clean. This can be done with the Dreambox Control Centre program which you are probably familiar with. By default the info is stored on the HDD, there are 2 files with different extensions. Almost forgot to mention that when you reboot these files are automatically created by PGI 1.4 if they are missing.
