Grazie

To everybody my name is Diego and I have bought a beautiful ipbox 9000 hi. I have just installed enigma2 on hard disk and function all very well except the net configuration. Someone knows the way to setup the net and to make connect the ipbox to connected? Thanks

there are 2 things that you need to check. when u telneted into the box and changed your enviroment settings to install enigma 2, did u put in the correct network settings?

Also in your settings in enigma 2 do you realise that dns(nameserver) settings are in a different menu. just find it and enter your routers ip and you should be fine

Thanks,
but my problem is that in the device setup even if I put the corrected data, the decoder doesn't go to internet and the dhcp it doesn't work.
Do I perhaps have to manually edit some files?

yes its because of the way enigma 2 is setup up on the box, it needs the network preconfigured before it can boot. you need to pick a static ip address and use it. just pick the one that the flash image uses.

when you orignally installed it you had to login with telnet and paste 2 commands over(i assume you used the hdd install guide on these forums)

In those commands there was some ip addresses that had to be changed to match your network.

10.1.1.181 should be changed to your boxes ip address, 10.1.200 should be changed to your routers ip address and 255.255.255.0 should be changed to your required subnet(check the status of your pcs network connection to get these).

If these are wrong then the box can't connect.

Just reboot the box into your flash image and re enter the correct commands. then boot back into enigma and add a name server(your routers ip) and you should be fine

The command u need to change should look like this

fw_setenv menu_2 'setenv ipaddr 10.1.1.181;setenv gateway 10.1.200;setenv netmask 255.255.255.0;setenv bootide "run bootargside;ide reset;ext2load ide 0:2 a5ff0000 boot/uImage;bootm a5ff0000";setenv bootargside "setenv bootargs console=ttyAS1,115200 panic=3 bigphysarea=10240 root=/dev/sda2 rw rootfstype=ext2 init=/bin/devinit ip=$ipaddr::$gateway:$netmask mem=128m coprocessor_mem=4m@0x10000000,4m@0x10400000";setenv bootcmd "run bootide";save;boot'

Hope this helps
