With one week of special programming on its way to El Clásico, Canal+ is warming up the audience for the first Real Madrid vs. Barcelona match of the season.

From the first and second position in La Liga, the Spanish teams are to meet next Saturday (21 November) at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in a match that will be broadcast exclusively on pay-TV platforms.

From next week, football network Canal+Liga will show El-Clásico-focused programming with documentaries, special reports, interviews with players and broadcasting of former games between the teams.

Three days prior to the game, Canal+Liga has scheduled El Clásico, La Cuenta Atrás (countdown to El Clásico), a show to keep the audience updated with the latest news, with a focus on Lionel Messi's evolution and his participation in the game.

Even though Canal+Liga is owned by Telefónica's Movistar+, the football channel is also available on other pay-TV services like Orange and Vodafone, due to a ruling by Spain's broadcasting watchdog.
