BIRMINGHAM, England, April 21 (UPI) -- Officials with a British bus company said they suspended a driver who was filmed reading a book behind the wheel in a video posted to YouTube.
National Express West Midlands, headquartered in Birmingham, England, said the No. 61 bus driver was suspended after bosses saw a YouTube video depicting the man reading a book while driving the double decker on a busy road Monday evening in Birmingham, The Sun reported Wednesday.
"Immediate action was taken to suspend the driver who will now face disciplinary action," a National Express spokesman said. "It is not appropriate to predict the outcome but an incident of this type is likely to lead to a dismissal."
"It is completely unacceptable for any driver to behave in this manner," the spokesman said.
