ok insert that lead and the lan lead do not insert the power lead open dreamup select your correct com port and tick the use network box then click on connect when it says now switch on insert the power lead and watch dreamup see if it say going into serial mode if it does use the same ip in your web browser and flash it through your browser just make sure you have the correct image for that sim

I just noticed that the lead you use is USB - Serial I have seen many posts where people had problems with that lead make sure you install the driver for that lead so it gives it a virtual com port if it done work you need a proper null modem cable lead and a pc with a com port

Nothing happens after inserting the power lead.
I'm starting to think about the lead being faulty or not the correct one.
Here is the description of my lead:

USB 2.0 To RS232 Serial 9 PIN DB9 Cavo Adattatore Convertitore GPS PDA
and this one
Gender Changer 9 pin Female to F Serial RS232 Adaptergender Changer 9 pin Female to F Serial RS232 Adapter

If you have "error" on the LCD, it means the sim card is dead and need to be replaced, to test, just remove it and you will see you have exactly the same error... so sim dead and need a new sim. Sim2 2.10 and Japhar SuperSim3 NC3 are the ones today people get for DM800HD. The SuperSim3 does all Japhar, Ferrari and Sim2 2.01/2.10 images. The Sim2 does only Sim2 images.

TS

It's clone and the sim 2.10.
The problem is I cannot flash the box because of the error message.

he has ERROR NO CA he said so he's flashed the wrong image and the sim is not dead and should be able to revive it. typical dealer thinking of his own pocket

Thanks for this. I removed the sim card and I got "multimedia error " message only.
Where can I buy the sim card?

Hi,
After hours of searching I decided to ask for help.Flashed my dm800hd pvr with wrong image and now Im getting this error message:
"Dream Multimedia -->error! *ERR01: NO CA FOUND"
Tried dream up using rs232 to USB cable but no luck.It finds the port and connects but when I turn the box on nothing happens.I get the same message on the box no matter what I do.
I have opened the box to check the sim card but it seems ok.
Should I just recycle the box?
Thanks

How does the NO CA error mean you need to buy a new sim ?

Try helping instead of pushing new sims on to people that dont need them.

You dont need a new sim mate.

What you need is to make a connection to your box with Japhar Flasher a patched DreamUP.

What you seem to be using is a USB to Serial lead this can cause issues but if it work your also need a network cable connected to get the box in to HTTP mode. Attach bot cables tick the network option give the box a IP in the range of your router dchp table and enter your PC's IP.

Power off the box press and hold the power button in and re apply power at the prompt in Japhar flasher press connect. You should see an IP come up on the box front screen and japhar flasher should fire into life.

Use the IP in your browser to flash well the the way i do it.

use patched version of Dreamup

connect via serial using NULL Modem cable and Ethernet to ROUTER and pc

load patched version of dreamup, select your com port and then click connect and power on dm800

when initialised it will display http serial mode on lcd and show dhcp ip once ip is displayed dreamup as served its purpose and now its in flashmode

log into webshell on pc using the 192.168.x.xxx address on LCD disply and flash as normal

connect via serial and Ethernet to router and pc..

load patched version of Dreamup, click connect and power on dm800

when initialized it will display http serial mode on lcd and show dhcp IP once IP is displayed Dreamup as served its purpose and now its in flash mode

log into web shell on PC and flash as normal
use correct software for the version sim you have in
your box otherwise will not work.

Tried that but no luck.Same message on the screen every time I turn it on.

Do you ever get DreamUP or Japhar Flasher to connect ?

Do you ever get a IP address showing on the front screen of your box ?

It finds the port and when I hit connect it changes to connected telling me to power on the box..Then when I power on the box and nothing happens. No IP address only same error message all the time.
Ethernet cable connected with "use network" selected.Ipconfig cannot see the box neither.
I wonder if the cable is straight instead of crossover one.

If your doing this through a router and you should be the router will autosence what cable you have and adapt.

I still think you have this problem becuase of the usb to serial cable you have.

Do you not have a com port on any PC's or laptops you own ?

No, no devices with com port in my house. That is why I bought the usb one.I rang the local guy who repairs receivers and he told he would fix it for a small fee.
I'm going to bring it down to him and post the result here. One thing he said was that it wasn't the sim card for sure .
Thanks all for your posts and see you next week.
