Dreambox 500HD broken :( & Warranty?

Got a genuine DM500HD, its about a year old. I noticed end of last footy season that I was getting slight pixelation, but replaced the HDMI cable and that seemed to have cured it. Just got round to setting up for footy tomorrow and it seems to have died completely now. It started up ok, then I could view a channel, but it broke up and screen went black, turned back on again and now I don't get the green light on front of box, I can see some red lights flashing on the motherboard but unsure what these mean. I have also tried with USB cable into service slot and dreamup, but have got to various stages, first time I tried it uploaded bootloader, but was stuck on waiting acknowledgement, then tried again and its not being detected. Any ideas?

Also does anyone know of the warranty situation on these boxes, I bought from satstore, also I have flashed with Peterpan image, so would this invalidate the warranty?

yes flashing any image voids any warranty .
But funny enuff i had same problems tonight so i decided to flash Edg nemisis 2.2 image on Dm500HD

i havnt used or needed to use DreamUP tool in a few years so dunno why you wanna even try anything with that crappy tool it suxs !!
Switch power off with button at the back of Dm500HD then hold in the power button on the front of dreambox ,


now switch button on at the back while holding in the off button at the front of dreambox ...you'll see a red flashing light again but dont panic you will then see on-screen msg giving you box ip etc..fine now you goto PC/laptop that is linked wired/wireless to your router which dreambox is connected open a mozzilla firefox web page ( dunno if this works with shitty internet explorer browser as i dont use that shite browser as it full of virius ) clear Top address Bar completley enter dreambox ip + Enter ..now you should be in firmware upgrade page ??


browse for .nfi image file ...click upgrade / flash wait 'till done 100% then click on Tab "Reboot"

watch your dmbox reboot dont panic at this stage all will be fine im sure ..you'll then have to go thro' the various set-up config. im sure you'll know the rest .
