dreambox 500 cannot connect to internet

hi my dreambox 500 cannot connect to internet for some reason

i plug the cable from the dreambox to the router and lap top plug into router as well but still no joy sm useing firezila

is it normal ethernet cable you use or do you need a other type any good links on amazon uk for them

any help be great just got box 3 days a go

just a normal ethernet cable connect it from the 500 straight to the router afterwards reboot the dreambox

done what you told me still not working do i need to unplug all the other plugs from the dreambox like the dish for it to work

no you dont,on remote press menu/setup/network/communication setup and then press ok, first write down the ip you see,then scroll down to use DHCP and tick the box by pressing ok, save it with the green button i think then exit,after this reboot the box then go back to comunication setup and see if the IP has now changed,if it as the network is working ok,if not it might be you are using a crossover cable and it needs to be straight through one

thanks for your help now its working ok on lap top how do i Cccam.cfg to ver as i can not find file to edit
