Do I need to install a new image?

Hi all, I am currently using the following on my DM800hd
sim2.01,tuner alps M version
sim201_ssl84b
OpenPLi-2.1-beta-dm800-2012-10-27-By-gjstroom-dOOds-Backup (as image).

I would like to know whether I am missing out on anything ie. do I need to upgrade to the 84d ssl or will Sim2.01 have issues with it?
I use mostly TSMedia to stream movies.

The newer oe2.0 images are very big and dont leave you with much space for plugins.

On the 800hd id stick with the image your using now which is oe1.6 becuase oe2.0 image are really slow on the 800hd

In the meantime (before reading your reply) I went ahead and installed

As you say it is a bit slow esp. I like to watch French films with subtitles and to access the subtitles menu it's a pain as the rotating gears take a few seconds on each keypress..

Maybe I will go back to

My questions:
1. So what is the difference between OE1.6 and 2?
2. Can I simply install the OE1.6 image onto the SSL84D bl or would I need to install the 84b bootloader again?
