DM800se Scan Problem

Hi Guys,

I have a new genuine DM800se with a pli image (dated15/6).
I have a 89cm dish with a single LNB facing the Hotbird at 13E.

My problem is that I am basically not able to see any channel with a name "Sky *****" (plus other nice cinema and movies channels like nova cinema for instance..) other than Sky Music. I am just not able to get them through scans, I updated the satellites.xml, checked if they are scanned and flagged as data services using dreambox Edit... tried to scan their transponders manually and all I get is 0 services found.

I thought that my BCM tuner is not able to receive DVB-S2 (even though some of the missing transponders are DVB-S), but I checked and I have some DBV-S2 working channels (some of them are HD and working perfectly). The SNR is around 14-15 dBs which is fairly good.

I am really running out of ideas here, and I'd appreciate some fresh perspective on this one... I spent a lot of money on this system and I dont wanna just start swapping elements without a clear direction.

Thanks a lot.

Best Regards,
Karim

You 100% sure your looking at hotbird with that dish ?

Your signal strenght does seem ok so maybe cheat and add a channel list and see if you get those channels as a first step.

I am 1000% sure that it is hotbird, I am receiving around 900 channels that belongs to hotbird. I tried adding a channel list by replacing the files through dreambox Edit, but when I zap to one of the those that I cannot see through a normal scan it says Tuner failed.

I forgot to mention that I observed that most if not all of the problematic transponders are in the higher range of frequencies (post 11xxx).

While with some channels that I cannot get through scan but their transponder still returns channels, I get SID not found in PAT, and I double checked that these are the right transponder data.

How do you have the LNb setup under tuner config and is the LNB a universal lnb or another type monoblock etc

I live in the southern part of Sweden and I get more than 2000 channels on Hotbird (90 cm dish). I think you have a DiseQ or LNB problem due either to malfuction or to the tuner settings

Feel you have LNb or tuner problem but i would try another image before condemning them.

Do you have any recommendations?
How can you identify if the problem is in the LNB or the tuner?

Id try another image first then try another LNB.

Would the image be a reason of not receiving high frequency transponders? Is that possible?
Thanks man for all the help.

Its possible but i think not. We are just trying to eliminate a few things.

Are you using a clone or orignal ?

I have tried Nemesis, OpenPLI 2.1 and 3.0, and the original stock firmware. non of them scans anything in the higher frequency range.

What frequencies are you talking about ?

above 11700, maybe with the exception of one transponder but not sure maybe its the same channels from a low frequency one as it happens a lot on hotbird.
